In a bravura demonstration of the versatility of Chenin Blanc (and other Loire varietals white and red), the Directors invite you to join us at this iconic Chinese restaurant, where the signature dish will be featured along with a broad array of Peking cuisine. The kaleidoscopic flavors on the plate amidst the din of spirited conviviality will serve as an ideal platform to introduce the uninitiated into true believers in the ability of Loire wines to not only pair well with “foreign” foods, but heighten one’s taste experience.
The Menu
Starters:
Mixed plate of a shrimp dumpling, vegetable spring roll, spare rib and bbq beef stick.
Entree:
Peking duck
Beef with Chinese black mushrooms and bamboo shoots
Chinese broccoli with oyster suace
Noodles with chicken and vegetables
Please notify us as you sign up of any allergies or restrictions.
Each participant is encouraged to bring a bottle - to be shared communally - the more the merrier.
If it’s a white wine, please try to bring it chilled. If you don’t already have something in your personal cellar, remember that RWM, Flatiron, and Chambers Street offer discounts to members of the Chantepleure, and their staff would be happy to recommend something appropriate.
The cost of the dinner includes all taxes, corkage fees, and gratuities.
